What will happen to a baby born at 34 weeks?

My sister had her son at 35 wks, he weighed 5lb. she was induced but her labour was quick (3 hours). they stayed in hospital for a week. she chose not to feed but could of. he was jaundiced and had to go on a heat lamp but otherwise he was fine.
