Has anyone's baby had bronchiolitis?

My little boy is not quite 7 weeks old and has bronchiolitis (not bronchitis!). He has had it over 2 weeks and basically has a terrible cough and breathing difficulties during these coughing episodes. We've been to the doctor 3 times and he is now on antibiotics although I've since read that this won't help as it is a virus so I'm not sure why the doctor prescribed them?! I'm just getting really worried about him and am wondering if anyone has experienced this with their baby. He's so young so I'm worried how he will cope and if he might just stop breathing? Thanks
