you can take a screenshot of the current window/program that ur viewing by doing a Alt+PrintScrn. This works on any computer- not just a Dell. If you want to take a shot of a particular part of the screen then u'll need a program for this. If you happen to have Microsoft Office 2007 installed you can use Microsoft OneNote.
