Rosebud Salve good for blemishes?

The tin says that it works well on blemishes, but who has tried this? Do you use it to heal an existing blemish, use it when you feel one coming on...how do you use it? I'm a little wary of trying it, since it contains petrolatum, but any advice might change my mind!
