Are we approaching a socialistic society?

Hugo Chavez "Bailedout"(nationalized) the oil industry whenthey didn't need it. He could do that in his country. But this is America. What does the far left have to do to achieve their socialistic ideals? Push the economy to the brink, control Congress, and the Oval Office. POOF!!! Hugo Chavez will be our new best friend!
